The property sits within a sustainable initiative to revitalize the \u201c<em>Cantiere<\/em>\u201d, an artisan district created in the early 1900s to support the <a href=\"https:\/\/progettodighe.it\/centrali\/ligonchio-ligonchio-re\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">hydroelectric plant<\/span><\/a>, that once served as the heart of the local economy and community life.<br \/>\nIn 2007, the electricity company that owned the &#8220;<em>Cantiere<\/em>&#8221; district ceased operations, and the municipality decided to auction off the area. This sale required the development of an open-air accommodation facility that adhered to the original architectural design. After four years of careful construction, the Rifugio dell\u2019Aquila officially opened its doors in 2012.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=&#8221;{}&#8221; uniqid=&#8221;660ebf016a047&#8243; background_color=&#8221;#c8d7b9&#8243;][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;{}&#8221; uniqid=&#8221;660d6c7c2b9df&#8221;]<span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>Sustainable Architecture<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Designed with sustainability at its core, the Rifugio dell\u2019Aquila incorporates the restoration of old terraces and the preservation of the original building layouts.
